- Đại học University of Birmingham thành lập năm 1900 và là một trong những thành viên của Russell Group danh giá hàng đầu Anh Quốc. Mỗi năm, ĐH Birmingham chào đón hơn 30.000 sinh viên đến từ hơn 150 quốc gia trên thế giới.

- Đại học Birmingham luôn chú trọng việc phát triển cơ sở học tập và công nghệ mới để hỗ trợ sinh viên học tập và nghiên cứu. Trường trang bị 9 phòng máy tính, 2 dãy phòng học tập điện tử, một trong những thư viện lớn nhất nước Anh chứa hơn 1.5 triệu bản in ấn và 866.000 mục sách online cũng như 124.000 tạp chí, báo khoa học.
- Không gian học tập và giảng dạy cũng được đầu tư đáng kể như Phòng thí nghiệm Giảng dạy (Collaborative Teaching Laboratory) đang thay đổi cách giảng dạy các môn học STEM, Trường Kỹ thuật mới (new School of Engineering), mở rộng thêm cơ sở Khoa học Phân tử, Viện Nghiên cứu Lâm nghiệp Birmingham (BIFoR), Viện Y học (the Institute of Translational Medicine), Tòa nhà Alan Walters, Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Nhiệt độ Cao (HTRC),….
- Ngoài ra, trường còn có Bảo tàng Địa chất Lapworth, Trung tâm nghệ thuật The Barber Institute of Fine Art – một trong những phòng trưng bày nghệ thuật đẹp nhất ở châu Âu, Bramall Music Building – Trung tâm âm nhạc và giải trí của Đại học Birmingham hay Sport and Fitness club với đầy đủ thiết bị, cơ sở vật chất đẳng cấp quốc tế.
